Fritzbox and fritzbox 7590 Login review

Fritzbox, especially popular in European countries, is a brand introduced by AVM GmbH. These are German manufacturers of products in the field of telecommunications and network technology, such as DSL, ISDN, modems, routers, and WLAN devices. Among all their products, the FRITZ! Boxes, the most popular because of the number of Residential Gateway devices. is known for manufacturing gateway devices that serve multiple functions. There are different models that the Fritzbox series, e.g. the fritzbox 7490, fritzbox 7530, and 63xx. Which series/model you choose should depend on your specific needs because different types of modems are installed in different areas. For example, most models have an integrated ADSL modem, but if you want both ADSL and VDSL capabilities you would be very well equipped with the 73xx series. Similarly, the 68xx series is dedicated towards Long Term Evolution (LTE) modems and the 63xx models focus on cable modems.

Execution for

As stated above under technical data, the Fritzbox 7590 is an excellent device that can do almost everything that a device can do at this point in time. The good thing is that we can happily and without a doubt report that it does not fail in delivery and exceeds the expectations of many reports.

After testing the devices using Wi-Fi tools such as InSSIDer and perf under different conditions, conclusions were drawn regarding their performance. Compared to other companies’ flagship products, such as the Billion BiPAC 7800N and the Netgear DGND3300 V2, it seems that AVM FRITZ! The box is miles ahead. During testing in the room with no significant signal obstructions while running at 2.4GHz, the wireless throughput turned out to be almost 30 points better than the rival, the Netgear DGND3300 V2. Three chipsets were included in these tests prior to averaging; the Intel Ultimate-N 6300, the Atheros AR5008X, and the Ralink RT2870.

Next, the 5GHz capabilities were tested against the likes of the Linksys WAG320N and the Netgear DGND3300 V2. In the same space with no obstacles, the Fritzbox 7590 beat the competitor, Linksys WAG320N, with about 47 points. It should be noted, however, that the Linksys WAG320N performed marginally better than the rest when obstacles were introduced.

Next, it was time to test ADSL2+ sync time, which is measured by sync time from ADSL 2+ connection to the exchange. Please remember that it is not very important as it matters little in real-time usage.

The Billion BiPAC 7800N performed slightly better than the Linksys WAG320N, but unfortunately, the Fritzbox fell behind all the others with a better score. Downstream performance wasn’t that bad, to be honest, but it was in fact much less than the Netgear DGND3300 V2, the penultimate competitor in this test.

The nice-looking plastic device is a very good networking machine that tries to deliver on all fronts and almost does it better than anyone else around it. Some may believe that the company has excluded the not much-used DECT from the package and made it more cost-effective than it is at the moment, but the unique confident 5-year warranty, user interface that is easy to use, and the wide range of functions, recommend the Fritzbox 7590.
